At the return, the path is the same and the excursion will end with a tasty picnic (Romanian "mititei" - rolls of minced, mixed meat with mustard and bread). After the hike (which altogether with the picnic will take more than half a day) we will be transported back to our village using the same vehicle (local bus). After a rest we will have common dinner and folk program again in the same village

From Huedin's railway station we will continue our journey by train (a local slow train) for some 20 minutes. A herd of 10-15 horses will wait for us not far from the railway station and soon our program will start in the following order:
- horseshow: for approximately 45 minutes some 5-6 horsemen will present the group ancient horseback war techniques such as javelin throwing, usage of kopja or horseback bow shooting
- we will be thought the elementary rules concerning the horseback riding and those who are willing to ride will start on a longer horseback journey (1-1˝ hours) over the surrounding hills. Each horse will be held by its bridle by a local "instructor" for those who are not acquainted with the riding and the horses. Those who decide not to ride may choose between traveling by a horse-pulled wagon on the same meadows or stay in the "camp" and exercise the bow shooting
- bográcsgulyás picnic
After this program and picnic we will hike down on foot (some 6,5 km easy walk) to the Izvorul Crisului village - another characteristic village of the Calata region -, where the group will be given free time for shopping - mostly embroideries, pottery, sheep skins, etc. On the second part of the day we will travel back west to Oradea and afterwards, south to the mountain area of Padis. from the pension we travel by lorry (local vehicle) some 12 km up in the karstic (dolomite) area of Padis (beautiful protected wild natural region with huge precipices, caves, wild waters, ice-caves, big forests, and great panorama opportunities). There are hundreds of excursion opportunities here and we will spend the entire day hiking in this area. So, after this 12 km we leave our lorry and we start our hike at some 10 o'clock and depending on the group's capabilities the excursion will take up to 5 hours.
We will hike to the so called "Castle of Wonders" or also called "The Ponor Castles" following the bed of the Ponor Brook from its spring and through the "Ponor Meadow" where it disappears. Those who do not want to hike can spend the day waiting for the rest of the group relaxing and having easy walks in the forest or on the meadows. We will go back to our pension the same way we came by using the same local transport (lorry).

|
Program:
|
This day we travel with our bus some 40 km south to Sighistel village where we leave the bus and hike in the so called: "Sighistel Canyon". The hike in the canyon is approx. 10 km long and it would take max. 4-4˝ hours of hike. The tour is not very demanding (medium difficulty) because there is no big difference of level. The "Sighistel Canyon" is a very narrow gorge surrounded by lush green forests but till we get there we have to cross more times the shallow water of the Sighistel Brook - this is the reason why we need a pair of spare shoes at the bus.
At the end of the canyon we will enter the world of the bats in the Magura Cave, a small but interesting cavern with a large diversity of stalactites and stalagmites. For this we need to be equipped with flashlights. Afterwards we will return on the same track and at the end of the entire hike we will have a picnic in the beautiful natural surrounding.
Next we will continue our travel with the bus and after some 150 km we will stop in the Minis wine region where we will take part in a wine-tasting (and dinner) program. The region is mostly known for its red wines (Cadarca, Pinot Noir and so on) but for its white wines, as well (Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc or Traminer). The wine-tasting program includes 9 sorts of wines and also here we will serve dinner (stew with pasta) as well.
There are 100 km left to our accommodation place, in Gyula, Hungary (very close to the Romanian-Hungarian country border). The town Gyula is famous for its thermal medicinal baths and also for its brick Castle.

|
on the 6th day and breakfast on the 7th day in Gyula, 3* hotel (Agro/Erkel).
